An upcoming film screening in Cadillac has the goal of helping to shed light on local animal charities.

The event will showcase “An American Opera: The Greatest Pet Rescue Ever;” a film by Michigan native Tom McPhee. The documentary follows the struggles faced by the people of New Orleans who were forced to evacuate the city without their pets, as well as the work of the volunteers who came from around the world to help.

The film screening comes as part of “The Rescue Party Tour;” It will be screened at the Cadillac High School Auditorium on May 28. The screening begins at 7pm; for more information on the film you can log on to AnAmericanOpera.com.
